    computer connected to xbox help

    sorry if this is not in the right section. i bought a new ethernet port today installed it, and it works fine. but when i try and connect to xbox live through my new port it says that it has limited or no connectivity. i called a tech place and they couldnt help. i was wondering if anyone here knows what i am talking about and could help. thx



    this is how im setup
    modem to router, router to computer(CAT5E CABLE), computer to xbox(CAT5 CABLE/ XBOX LINK CABLE), xbox doesnt connect to internet says DNS not found.
    people i know have same setup but cant help

    You should have your Xbox connected to your router. The router (if DHCP is enabled) will assign the IP, DNS, and gateway. This is unless your PC is acting as the gateway for the Xbox.

    If your PC is acting as the gateway for the XBOX then you will need to manually configure the IP, DNS, and gateway on the XBOX. Unless the PC is a server with DHCP configured.
