Windows Media Player problem
I have an HP Windows XP laptop. I have all updates and protection for my problem, so I know my issue is not that. Recently, my wmp won't play any streaming videos without the screen playing just blank material. The sound goes through, but the video does not. I have even uninstalled wmp and reinstalled it and have even tried upgrading to the new 11th Ed. It is only a problem with wmp, and not with Real Player or any other media player software (including other internet streaming media players). Nothing has worked to solve my problem. I think I have all of the current video drivers. If you can help me, I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Welcome to Windrivers tswatkins
Could you please post the exact laptop model - and what video card it uses. there are several fixes listed here Depending on your setup, one of them may help.
If one does help, would you mind posting what fix worked for you please?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Try downloading and installing the WM9 codec pack, that should cure the problem.
