    no start.

hi. I just put a sata adapter in my system. I turned off power, put in adapter and plugged in sata connector to the mobo. It's only an external sata adapter so its just a connector from board to adapter plug. When i restarted the system all fans go but the beep alert comes on. There is no display and system doesnt boot up. So i powered down the system checked all connections etc. Nothing seems to be out of place. The alert keeps coming on, any suggestions because im stumped at this point?
    thanks.

Did you try unplugging the adapter and then booting?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

I did try unplugging the adapter already and rebooted, still the same thing happens. I don't see anything being loose but I am going to pull out the video card and possibly the ram and reset them.
Thanks for help I'll let you's know what happens. I have been thinking all day about what it could be and now I'm home to work on this again. I think it will be the video card because the mobo has onboard graphics and there may be something going on here. K, check back soon, thanks.

Also, if you haven't already done so, try clearing the CMOS in case static has caused some corruption.

    Resolved Solved.

Thanks for your suggestions. All I did was reset the video card, works like a charm. There must have been a conflict as stated earlier with onboard graphics. Nothing loose- And the adapter is plugged in as well boots up fine. Now I have another issue... haha, the power supply to my speakers fried one speaker, cheapies anyway time for some real ones.
    All systems go!
