You MIGHT take a deep breath, and then tell us what state works now.
AND PLEASE, start typing like most people type and speak (if you speak like you have been typing then I apologize).
What state works NOW?
edit: state, as in, can you get to the Bios screen on boot with or without the HD connected?

Well - OK then. I leave the vegetables (little joke about peas and carrots - one doesn't 'pee' on ones carrots, you know!) to Noo Noo and she is near bed time in the good old English Countryside so you must await her rising in the nonce.

No, but you do need to plug in the case speaker (red and black cable) to the SPK1 header on the motherboard.

That depends. First you have to get it to Power On Self Test (POST)properly first.
You said you added the IDE drive and it didn't work. That means you have a fault with the drive. You may have a faulty cable or a faulty drive or you may not have connected it correctly.

and my samsung dvd drive
where do i start?...and please dont say bestbuy.
At the beginning and no, I would never suggest bestbuy unless it was to buy something that you needed, like a new hard drive and it had the best deal on the drive you wanted.
So answer the following questions clearly.
Did you plug in the case speaker wire to SPK1 header on the motherboard?
Have you put the graphics card in correctly?
What is the make and model of the hard drive?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

let me ask u another ?

If XP is already on the hard drive, XP probably won't boot. XP builds itself on the hardware on the machine, change the hardware for a different manufacturer and it won't start.
Now the computer must have a video card in it otherwise is won't start and you may hear 3 beeps.
If you set the clear cmos jumper to on and turn on the machine, the machine will not work.
So, have you got a monitor plugged in?
What do you actually see on the screen?
Have you got a floppy disk drive in the machine, if so, is it connected?

If you hook up just the video card and the RAM, do you get anything on the screen? (Don't connect any drives at this point).

Then either the cpu or the motherboard is dead. The only way to test it is to get a known good compatible cpu and try it.
