Welcome to Windrivers hezyone
The bios has been reset, this might be because the motherboard battery has died... check the clock, what date and time does it say?
Also it may be that you have changed some settings, specifically to do with the processor (cpu) settings.
Go into the bios and look for the CPU settings and set them to auto.

It looks like the time & date are ok. I do not see any place in the bios to set cpu settings.

Is there an option to set the bios to optimal settings?
I can't find any information about what options are in the bios for your machine, so right now I am having to guess. Can you download Everest and post the motherboard information?

The board was apparently made by ECS and is used in Packard Bells as well. Have you changed, moved or even just had a look inside the machine? Did you update the bios?

I did not update the bios. The only time I've had the computer open was to add Ram. It had 1 gig, I added a gig.

And from the point you added the gig of RAM, this problem started?

I can't say for sure. I do not know. I was thinking it was doing it before I inserted the ram. I will try removing the ram & see if I get the error message. Only problem is I don't get the message every time I restart.

If it's intermittent, it makes it much more difficult to pin point. You might want to try resetting cmos via the jumper near the battery - probably marked jp1 and has 3 pins... move the jumper over one pin (with the computer off) then count to 10 slowly, then move the jumper back again.

Removed the old ram, installed 4 1 gig sticks. Still got the error message. Followed your instructions to reset BIOS, still get the message.

What happens if you put it back to the original configuration?
When you get the message, do you press F2 to get into the cmos and then save and exit?

If this is intermittent it might be due to the power supply - either the powersupply in the machine is acting up or the quality of the power being supplied is a problem. Do you have a surge protecter? Or does the pc plug straight into the wall or a normal powerbar (4 gang)
