camera and scanner wizard not showing up
I tiried uninstalling and installing the visioneer 7100 software using the utilities listed on the visioneer website. Removing hidden devices, removing inf files, and removing temporary files, because I was getting a message windows "cannot copy the current picture". I reinstalled the software and now camera and scanner wizrd is not showing up in any of the menus. When I try usingithe visioneer software I am getting the message that the scanner is locked.

I tried doing the restore and now the camera a scanner wizard shows up, but I am getting an error message " The computer cannot detect the scanner or camera". Please make sure the dcevice is turned on and is properly connected to the computer. I fthe computer still cannot detect the device, open Control Panel, click scanners and cameras, and then click Add Device. The device does show up in the device manager and there are no problems with the device. there are alos no problems with any other devices.

Since I am not looking over your shoulder, I cannot tell what actions you have taken.
I get: System restore Camera and Scanner Wizard appears normal THEN, somehow, the message " The computer cannot detect the scanner or camera" comes into the picture. When? After what actions? |

You might want to plug the scanner into a different machine and see if it is recognized and works correctly. If it does, then I think you're looking at a repair installation of Windows on your computer. If the scanner fails to work on a different machine, then I'd say it's time to play taps.
