I'd be leaning in the direction of the power brick or the motherboard, specifically the part of the board that the charging goes though. Seems more of a hardware issue to me.
One Script to rule them all.
One Script to find them.
One Script to bring them all,
and clean up after itself.

you mean, you think that its a hardware issue in terms of the motherboard not cherging the battery correctly?

Possibly, it could be a fried circuit, bad capacitor, corrupt bios, or even a broken port to plug he cord into.
