XP SP3 Power Options
Updating Dell Latitude 505's from WIN XP SP2 to SP3, in a Windows 2003 domain setting. Upon upgrade users logging in on these laptops do not retain the admin. settings on the Power Options. I have settings set to "never" with batteries and power, but these settings do not follow all users when they log into our domain. The settings resort to default settings and begin to hibernate or shut down in 5-15 minutes. Any suggestions? many thanks!

Have you gone to Control Panel > Power Options > Power Schemes> go to hibernate tab and uncheck the enable hibernation. Hope this helps.
It's not the computers that keep having problems, it's the users!!

Applied both tweaks from control panel and registry, but does not alleviate the problem. Many thanks!

Is there a setting in the BIOS for sleep mode / hibernation? As I recall, I had a Dell 505 a looong time ago and it had a 7 page BIOS.
