Vantas 3000 Scanner Driver for Windows 7
This is an old flatbed scanner.
The last available driver I can find is for XP.
Does anyone know how I can get this scanner to work on Windows 7?
Thanks.

The short answer is you likely cannot.
Now having said that you may be able to plug it in and go to devices
and printers and add it there pointing it to a xp driver set that
you download from Microtek.

I think your short answer is probably the right one.
I've tried everything. I've installed the XP driver software as "XP sp2 compatible" and that didn't take. Oh, it would show up in the TWAIN list of my paint software for the driver software itself (the twain driver), but the scanner itself is never seen.
I've installed drivers from other scanners just to see if one would take. While the Devices and Printers would show the scanner there when you plug it in, nothing happens when you click on Scan. Just a dead toad.
Oh well. I was wanting to give this to a friend since I have two other newer scanners. But he has Win 7 as well.
Thanks.

What version of Windows 7 do you have? Do you have Pro or Ultimate? If so you can try installing XP Mode.
