Windows 7 32/64 bit License Question
Hi,
I want to buy 2 windows 7 home premium for my client.
The seller has one 32 bit and one 64 bit, While I need 2 X 32 bit.
He told me i can use the 32 bit to install windows 7 on the 2nd computer and can use the 64 bit license code to activate it.
Is it true ? Might it be problematic in some way (Activation and legal wise) ?
Thank you

Keys are locked to version (ultimate, pro, etc) but not to a specific dvd.

The Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Family Pack (3 copies, either 64 or 32 bit, your choice, both DVD's are in the package) are a great deal. I just bought two to keep on hand. They are upgrades, so you'll have to have a previous copy of Windows.

If I remember well the beta versions had the same key for 32 and 64. That may no longer be true for final...
Easiest is to try on a VM and see if it accepts the key.

You can install 32or 64 with the same key. Just not both is my understanding. Sticking with the same product. Like 32 bit Home Premium to 64 bit Home Premium.

Thank you guys. The 64bit key worked on the 32bit installation CD (I didn't activated it yet, but it passed the internal key check).

A bit off topic, but here is a link for the family 3 pack for $99 with free shipping, your choice of any combination of 32 or 64 bit installs. I just bought 2 sets when it was $139 last week, my timing rots!
