I'll be getting the ASUS V7700TV - GeForce 2 GTS DDR 64MB with TV Tuner...

What computer do you have? what are the configurations/specifications of it?
Do you recommend me getting AMD or Pentium 4 if I am using the pc for games?
Is AMD known to be good? Does it crash alot? is it renowned for Stability or does it SUK?

I myself at home have a 1Ghz Athalon. I have not had any real problems with it and overall I am very happy. If I had to choose bettween the an Athalon and a P4 I would choose the Athalon due to its price and the ability to overclock it.

Great topic...I'm in the market for a 64MB video card. I do alot of gaming, multiplayer in particular. I currently have a voodoo 4 32MB card and I love it, but to be honest I really dont need a new card, just want the 64meg. Although I had always been a fan of 3dfx...RIP...I have to switch over to NVidia. Any suggestions as to which brand to go with?

Leadtek, Asus and Guillemot (Hercules) kicks *** . I have a Leadtek and Hercules GeForce 2 running on 2 Asus boards and the setup rules. Seems I get better performance with Athlon-based CPU's than Intel P3 or P4.
Soltek SL-85ERV, Pentium 4 2.25 GHz @ 3.1 GHz, with the aid of a Swiftech Mx4000 heatsink + 80mm Delta SHE fan, 512 MB Corsair XMS 3200 DDR, dual IBM 120GXP 40GB HDDs in Raid 0, dual WD200 20 GB HDDs in Raid 0, Asus 16X DVD, HP 9340i CDRW, Nakamichi 16X 5 disc minichanger, VisionTek GeForce 4 Ti4600, Adaptec 2940 UW SCSI PCI, Mitsubishi DiamondPro 91, WinXP Pro, RUNS LIKE A DREAM!!!!!

In reality the porccy does not really mater a great deal.
Run a game on 2 similar systems except one is a Duron 850 and the other is a 1.3ghz Athalon or a 1.7Ghz P4. If they are all using a Geforce 2 / 3 or similar card you will probably find a tiny differnce in frame rate (probably about 5 at most until you go up to v high res). Games are not able to tax the systems anymore unless they are badly coded or running in silly resolutions. Now the reason for saying this is that the difference between P4 and Athalon is not that noticable in a decent system you may get the odd one or two FPS but that wil be about it (tell me if I am wrong :P). However if yuo bought a 1ghz Athalon and a 1.7Ghz P4 you would notice a differnce doing intensive number crunching apps like audio and video editing and office applications (databases and such). It just depends on what you are doing

I have the Visiontek screwed down to an asus A7V and a 1000Mhz AMD Thunderbird. The visiontek was the cheapest. I don't know if it performs as well as the ASUS one, but I am very satisfied with this card. I typically get over 100fps on Unreal and if I go right up to a wall, I get over 400fps!!!

The Prophet II 64meg has been out since day 1 of the geforce2 release, its stable, fast, and more mature than other 64m geforce2's (since it was the only one you could buy at the time, I got it, $350 at the time )

Definately the ASUS card.
I've had several ASUS clone cards and never a problem with any of them. They work - period.
