Since you have run the program from Trident and it determined your chip set to be the 8400 then the video card is most likely a VGA Card that supports max of 256 colour, (at best).

Here is a quote from the Trident page
"Also note that older products are OLD (the 8800 for instance, was made 10 years ago), and were designed to support the software & hardware that existed at the time of development. While we attempt to update the drivers for a product for as long as possible, with every chip there comes a certain point at which we simply can no longer keep up with the latest operating systems, software, and applications. Please keep this in mind as you page through our drivers below. If a driver is not there for the application you are using and the OEM manufacturer, for whatever reason, is unable to assist you; then your only recourse will be to purchase a more up-to-date video card that supports today's new standards."

DNRC- let the new world begin.

This chipset is built into the motherboard on newer systems. I do have the drivers for it knocking around somewhere. Its about 9.15am at the moment and I have to go to work so e-mail me if you need them.
