[RESOLVED] old digital DECpc LPx 433dx won't boot up
I was given a couple of old Digital 486's
It powers up andI can hear the HD boot but the light on the A drive stays lit and I have no image/info on the monitor, plus there are no error beeps at all.
I am not a techie by any means but savvy enough to take the case off *G*
Is there hope for these relics or is the scrap heap the final answer?? Thanks

take the cover off and disconnect the floppy drive. if the digitalhas a daughter board that fits onto the motherboard make sure it is seated. turn on the computer and hit the usual bios entry keys(F2, ctrl-alt-enter,F10,etc)if this still doesn't work, try disconnecting your hard drive, cdrom, etc. also take out any add in cards. re-seat the memory. if it still doesn't work tie it to a long line and use it as a boat anchor.
