Green lines on Monitor

My monitor is producing these really annoying green horizontal lines after I turn it on. Sometimes these lines take more than an hour to become present, other times they show up after 5 minutes of use. They vary in width and usually start off thin, and gradually get thicker. The lines appear randomly and flash on the screen which makes me suggest there is a bad connection to something, but I have had the monitor tested by two different people and one admits it isnt right, but couldnt find the fault. A friend mentioned it might be the capacitor, but surely a repair man would be able to detect that. Any ideas on what could be wrong with it, or what I should do next (ie: Get it re-tested or throw it out etc?) Thanks.

The green lines that you are seeing are scan lines from the vert retrace. They usally indicated a short in the picture tube. My advice is to start shopping for a new monitor .Tube replacements are usally not cost worthy unless you've paid over 600 for it.

I had the same problem, only with red lines!
My lines were just caused by interference and went away when I moved my case and speakers further away!
