Post Multimon - Viper 770

I'm having a problem with Windows 98 and the Viper 770 in multiple monitor mode. My other video card is an ATI Xpert 98. I am also using a Tyan 1832DL motherboard. I have no problems with the 770 by itself. I turn off the computer, put in the Xpert, turn on the computer, it finds the drivers for the Xpert and every thing works fine. I am able to use both monitors. I reset the power and when it comes back up I get the "Windows is able to use this monitor..." message on the secondary, and I see the POST on the primary. but when the desktop should come up on the screen, my secondary show the desktop and the primary is black. the primary is enabled but the screen is just black. has anyone else out there had problems with multi-mon with 98 and a Viper 770

Question

no nothing like that before..i have the expert 98 myself. which is the primary board? with multiple monitors it is very picky which monitor settings etc.. although standard monitors seem to work you can experience problems like these...you are in a grey area to "me" unless this works....

TNT chipset requires it's own ASSIGNED IRQ via the BIOS. Could be that when the ATI is installed that the IRQ is being taken by that also. Try changing the slot that the ATI is in. I remember reading somewhere that hte Diamond cards do not like multimonitor configurations anyway and this could also be part of DIamonds drivers.

Strange one none the less anyway , hope we can resolve it
