    Cool Hyper Terminal and a modem that wont give in

    Heya, it been a while for me but im back!
    Here it goes... External 56K Diamond Memory Data/Fax/Voice. The modem is insisting it should answer all my incomming calls. This however has been disabled by using the ATS0=0 command in hyperterminal, but it does not work!! Hyperterminal does not save the new information even after sending AT&W and ATZ. Ive done the drivers and the flash. Anything in the INF i should look at? Any alternatives to hyperterminal? Cheers guys n gals! It good to be back! Russ

    Hey,

    How about going to Control Panel/Modems/Properties/Connections/Advanced...Extra Settings. Enter your ATS0=0 here.

    Hopefully, it will solve your problem.

    One other thing, some types of Fax software will try to answer incoming calls. You might have to go into it and disable it there.

    Good Luck!

    Talking

    I have had problems with Hyperterminal not being able to communicate with devices because it did not support the terminal emulation mode needed by the other device. I'm talking about the Hyperterminal that came with Windows, no upgrade. I use ProComm most of the time because it supports most things right out of the box. Good luck!

    You might also try this in HyperTerm
    Ats0=0&y0&w0
    Not all modems use profile 0 as the default.
