DirectX Display Information Missing

Hi Everyone. I installed a new 3D graphics accelerator. When I opened up Direct X, which this graphics card supports I noticed the amount of RAM says n/a. It should say 4. Also Direct 3D acceleration says “Not Available” and DirectDraw Acceleration also says “Not Available” I ran the tests and both appear to be working fine.

I am running Direct X 8.a, the latest version. I have a built in ATI RAGE II onboard video card which has been disabled. – 2mb of RAM. I can have both monitors working but if I do I can only print on one side of a page and my internet page scrolling appears to roll like a wave so the ATI RAGE II is disabled also.

My video adapter is an older Matrox MGA Millenium with 4megs of RAM. My system is a P233 with 256mb of RAM. Drivers for the Matrox are certified and updated.

Any suggestions on how to restore this information?

How are you turning off the onboard video, bios and or jumpers?

Onboard video was automatically disabled by the installation of a new video card. This is verified by a ruler and a pointer on the monitor icon in the Control Panel of the old monitor card. Also, when I try to change the display settings for the old video card there is no change in the view of the monitor. When I try to change the display settings for the new video card there IS a change in the view of the new monitor. It appears that the old one was indeed disabled.

I think your card will not display the info because it is not supported by microsoft but if everything works leav it be.
My Soundblaster 128 is like that butit works plain and simple.

So it's still in device manager, showing with a red cross or yellow exclamation mark?

Doesn't sound too disabled if you can still find it in windows, the old adapter just shouldn't show at all if it's properly disabled.

There is no red or yellow cross in device manager. Nothing is there except for the normal icon. The different icon is in Control Panel and it is a picture of a ruler and a pencil at the top side of the icon of the old adapter to show that it has been disabled. (Or at least this is what I think it means)

I took your hint and removed it from device manager. Now DirectX displays Properly.
