Files missing on startup
Ok, i'm using a Sony Slim book that had a few problems booting into normal mode and worse came to worse and I had to format the C: after I did a backup in safe mode and stored it on D: with the cab files. Now the OS is reinstalled and on start up it is looking for 3399drv.cat on the Win98se CD. I point towards the cabs and it can't find it! I even searched a fresh CD for the file and coulnd't see it there. Is there a way around these files?? Or a place i might be able to find them?? I've already tried the Active Setup registry keys in safe mode too. Please help (this is my bosses bosses' computer.. yikes!!) thanks

Geezer
Usually .cat files are a bit like signature files for drivers and you can safely skip these without problems.
