    Post A small request...please look!

Could somebody please e-mail me the Explorer.exe from Win95? (The one which is loaded as the shell)

    My email is: [email protected]

    Thanks!

I gather that this is to remove the Win98 shell for removing Internet Explorer?????

If so unless you own the license for Win95 and if you did, chances are you would have the CD also, unfortunatly it is illegal to send the files around this way.

Yes, I do have the licence ( if I didn´t would I not even ask for this ). But I do only have one HD, and I don´t want to uninstall, my 98 just to get it. I hope you can follow me!

Err, extract it from the .cab? Doen't sound like you have the original to me, but benefit of the doubt, I think it's included is win 95 sp2 which you can of course download from ms. So if there is any copyright infringement they did it, not me!

According to the head of my IT dept (we had a similar prob recently, so I'm sure he did check on this), you are allowed to install (and therefore I would assume have) a version lower provided you own a version higher.
Eg own win2k, but can install win 95/98

Any one from MS care to explain ???

    Cool

    <a href="http://www.98lite.com" target="_blank">98Lite</a> could help you out.

Also, Windows licensing *does* cover previous versions.

If you hold WinXP, you can install Win9x, Win3.1 or even DOS instead, if you so choose.

I'm not sure about Win2000 re: WinNT or Win9x though (different kernel)...
