[RESOLVED] joy stick not connected

In the joy stick config I get a "not connected" in the statis row. Although in some games it still works others not Iv done a lot to try to fix it with no luck please help

Go into System devices and then into device manager. Go down to sound vid & game conntrollers and double click on joystick.
Go to drivers and click update the driver Click No select from list and select Microsoft Gameport Joystick. Once its installed as this the gameport will communicate properly.

Thanks Mat for the help that fixed it I'v been 2 mo trying to get it going. What I found is that I can only have 1 dev on the list, if I put more on the list they dont work. Thanks again
