W98 WON'T DETECT MY MODEM

ANYONE ELSE HAVE THis problem?
After I upgraded to w98 my modem went dead.
I tried to reinstall with no luck.
I have a Logicode 56W-P modem.
I have the drivers which dont work since
the modem goes undetected.

It sound like you have a modem that uses a Rokwell chip set. That has no jumper setting on the modem board. You will need to manualy remove your drivers. If you look at the setup utility for your modem it has a file that list were all the files and registery entries have been made. use this list to remove all of the setting. next if you can disable all of you comm port on your mother board. Then try to rinstall your modem. Some of the newer drivers utilities are shipping with a small program that removes most of the setting.
