You need to actually be logging into windows with a consistant username. When you first boot up, if you get the login/password screen and press cancel or escape, this will disable password caching.

If you're not getting the network login screen, check your settings under the network icon in your control panel... change logon method to windows networking or microsoft family networking.

Good Luck!

If you're running Win 95 OSR2 you need to make sure that client for Microsoft Networks is installed to enable password caching for DUN. Go into the network control panel and see if its installed, if not add it. If it is and still no luck, or if client is installed, the *.pwl file may be corrupted. Click on start, find, over to files or folder and search for *.pwl on your boot drive. Either rename or delete, renamaing better. Also possible that if you have a brand name computer especially Packard Bell, they may have added something to the registry to keep you from having to enter a password to get into Windows on initial boot. Don't think this is true with their OSR2 machines however.

Also try removing Dial-Up Networking vis ADD/REMOVE PROG/ WINDOWS SETUP. This sometimes cures it. Also make sure that you have the MS ISDN Accelerater patch installed ( even if u don't have ISDN it improves DUN no-end ( if that is possible !!! )

If not, you ( or someone else ) could write a script to allow you to log-in automatically.
