Modem still Connected - Popup Window
I used to have a window appear (popup) after I exitted my browser (Net 4.05) that I my modem connection is stil open, do I want to disconnect - Yes or No. After reinstalling Windows 95 and Net 4.05, this window does not appear anymore. How do I get this window back? I have try my ISP and Dell Support for this without any answers.

Go to Internet Properties in Control Panel, Select Connect Via Modem from Connection, In this section you have a box that says ' disocnnect if idle for XX minutes, check it and you will have your disconnect box back.

I tried your tip but it did not work as I originally had my computer. I mean, immediately after I would exit my browser the popup window would appear to disconnect the modem. The window for checking "Disconnect if idle for more than XX minutes" has a minimum value of 3 minutes. I am using Win95, DUN 1.3, Net 4.05.
Thanks for your first tip. |

Your browser has lost connection to dialup networking. Just like you dialup networking loses you "Save Password" check box and you have to type it in from then on. Internet Explorer has a downloaded patch for the password issue, I suggest you check with Netscape to see if there is a patch for losing Dialup Connectivity. Sorry I cannot advise further.
