MPREXE.EXE not responding during Logon

When logging on to a NT server from Win95 the system does not respond further than entering in the P/W and pressing OK and the only program that shows up as running is MPREXE.exe and it is not responding and the pc needs several cold restart before it goes through the logon process.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx Gavin

Oh boy! Not this again!!! I had the same problems and my network help desk had one fix...delete all pwl files from your C:\Windows directory. That seemed to work half of the time. I started deleting the profiles under C:\Windows\Profiles. When you log in and if it tells you that you have not logged into this computer before and do you want to save your settings or something to that effect...SAY NO! Go to your network user drive and delete your profile from it too (Delete the User.* files). Shut down the system and make sure there is no profile for you under C:\windows\profiles and then go ahead and log on to the network. This always worked for me! Hope it help you!

It should be okay to delete all of the user.* files like ShadowRider says, just don't delete a very important file called user.dat! :-)
