    Resolved [RESOLVED] vxd files

I hope someone can help? I ran scandisk on w95 and somehow deleted ifsmgr.vxd and ios.vxd from the system folder. Now when I startup it tells me that they're missing and go into safe mode. No joy. I've copied both of these files from my laptops system folder and copied them into the system folder of my desktop but still no joy. HELP!!!!!

You could try searching the registry for those filenames and see if you can figure out what's looking for them...

It will ONLY boot into Safe Mode?
If yes then look in your startup - use msconfig or look under "run services" in the registry.

I ripped the head assembly out - it spins up fine now...

Apply the AMD k6 upgrade patch. It should take care of this even if you don't have an AMD chip. I've seen this probelm before and it worked here.
