Resolved [RESOLVED] Echo in start windows sound file at startup?

I've got an echo or reverb at startup (start windows). Only happens at startup - the sound file itself is not corrupt. Running win98 1st edition, fic +503 board with k6-2 475 and soundblaster 64. Thinking about reinstalling Windows at this point. Any alternative solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Had this on several AMD K6-2 systems, doesn't cause any problems. Doesn't matter if reload windows or not, still exists. I'm guessing, but, I think the amd chip is loading a couple of drivers at the same time resulting in this echo!

I am not sure about what the echo is you are hearing. I do know that a start up sound will studder if something is loading while the sound is playing. I have found that the larger the program in the start up folder the more the sound stutters. A good defrag and reorder has helped. The 7200rpm drive did not hurt either. Just a thought.
