Open GL in win 98
i know win 98 is not really designed to support open gl in applications (i am NOT talking about games here) but i think there is a patch that helps the situation. sadly i cannot remeber what it is or excatly what it does (either enables open gl or uses direct 3d instead - i cannot remeber.
btw - my client does NOT have the option of changing to win 2k - so no "change os" replies plz. thanks

That's weird, I'm not sure what you're talking about as I'm sure Win98 has the same support for OpenGL as Win2k. I could be wrong or maybe I just don't understand your question.
No matter, go to www.glsetup.org and www.opengl.org for downloads related to OpenGL. Obviously your video card has to have OpenGL support or no amount of software is going to help.

windows 98 does support open gl in games. however in 3d graphics and cad applications it does not, or at least not fully enough. there is a patch somewhere to use direct 3d instead of opengl for these programs, but i cant remeber where to find it.

Ive used Solid Works with Windows95. Thats a 3D CAD application rendering w/GL. I used a VooDoo3 2000. Although I have long since abandoned ship in favor of Win NT and GeForce...It worked.
Non of this helps you though, for that im sorry.

how odd - lightwave simply hates win 98 and rhino doesnt think much of the open gl preview in it either.
maybe its more of an application problem then.
will try other solutions.
