One more Win98 brainteaser puzzle
I have a toshiba tecra740cdt(166mhz, 32meg ram) and a deskstation V plus notedocking station. I've recently installed win98 in place of my win95 and the following problem has me baffled. Whenever the computer is docked, if a sound plays(.wav,.mp3,.voc,anything...) the computer freezes. Ive checked the devices, none conflict. The soundcard itself is functional due to the fact that when the pc is undocked everything works perfectly.
Please Help!!!

What type of sound?...Integrated of course, but who makes it?....Probably Yamaha, being a Toshiba, so I would try updating the drivers through either Toshiba or Yamaha's website!!!

Does the machine have hardware profiles for docked and undocked configurations?

have you tried a different docking station ?
also it might be a conflict (IRQ sharing..) between the Power Managment Controller (IRQ9 usually) and you sound Card.
check for updated BIOS.
if your BIOS allows to set IRQ for the Power management or ACPI - TURN IT OFF
