Out of Memory error starting applications
I get an Out of Memory message starting applications in Win 95. Also can't access screen properties via right click on desktop. Can't get into Windows Explorer either. Have just installed 2 windows applications which may have adjusted the registry. Any ideas, or am I at the point of no return to reformatting ?

Questions, how much memory does your computer have and how much space is left on the hard disk. If you do not have much space left on you hard disk, Windows does not have room or thinks it does not have any room for the swap file(virtual memory), if that is the case do a defrag and clean out all temp and unneccessary files. Also check your swap file settings in control panel, and see if somehow they were turned off or something.

Thanks 'kgmz' for your ideas. Actually solved the problem by uninstalling Internet Explorer 5. This gave the option of restoring system to IE4 settings. Chose that and it fixed the problems.

Have you checked your system for viruses?
Maybe this is the cause of your problem.
