Windows98 Multiple Display Problems
I have a friend who is trying to get two monitors to work on his Windows98 machine. The main card works fine, but the second card won't show. In the properties for the system (and card) it mentions that either a program or a device is taking up "its" (i.e., the multiple display manager I guess) spot in memory. Asks you to remove EMM386 from config.sys, and any other memory managers and restart the machine. There is nothing in his config.sys - HELP!?!?!?
Thanks.

what cards is he using?
Somecards do not have specific Win98 drivers and will not work in a multiple monitor scenario.
Both cards must either be PCI or AGP and have Win98 specific drivers ( either Win98 default ( WDM ) or 3rd Party ).

First card is a generic PCI S3 Virge (that is now the main video board). Second is an ATI All In Wonder with 8M which is the desired second monitor video card....

try updating the drivers for the ATI & S3 with specific win98 versions.
