Post Web browser for DOS? Does one exist?

I use a dos 6.22 based laptop for writing HTML files, and was wondering if a web-browser exists so i can check basic HTML formatting etc. before i go back and upload to my main PC.

I'm not needing something THAT up-to date just basic html tags -- although something that supports CSS would be rather usefull, I'm not expecting a dos-based CSS browser.

If anyone could drop me a line with any or all soloutions i'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe try loading Win3.1 on the laptop, and finding a copy of Mosaic.

I know MS still has a Win3.1 version of IE. I don't know what version it is but it will certainly render web pages a lot better than a really old version of a web browser.

There are a couple of DOS based web-browsers. Arachne & Lynx are probably the two most well known. They both require some type of third-party dialer, though (LAN connection tend to work better). Arache can display both text and graphics, while Lynx is a port of a Linux command line text only web browser.

Arache can be found here. http://arachne.browser.org/

And Lynx is here http://www.fdisk.com/doslynx/lynxport.htm
