    Resolved [RESOLVED] Outlook Express errors upon boot up

    I have just set up my system to triple boot with Windows 98 , NT4 Workstation ( SP3 ) & NT4 Server ( SP 3 ) . After installation of IE4.01 Outlook Express gives the following errors upon bootup:

    MSIMNUI.DLL / MSIMNIMP.DLL maybe missing or corrupted.You need to reinstall the application.

    This happpens in both versions of NT4 but not in win98. I have a feeling that Win98 has something to do with this somehow.

    All O/S's are installed in the first FAT16 partition with nothing else installed there. All applications are stored in seperate partitions for each version of the O/S's.

    Can anyone shed any light on this and a possible solution. I need to run 98 for my job as a Tech and I have very little knowledge of NT which is why I have installed them.

    The system they are running on is as follows:

    Intel PII 450 ( 4.5x100 )
    256Mb PC100 SDRAM ( 4 x 64Mb Modules )
    Giga-Byte GA6-BXE Mainboard ( BIOS rev.2.5 )
    16Mb Creative RivaTNT AGP
    PCI SLot 1 left empty to accomodate RivaTNT Active cooling.
    Creative SBLIVE! Value ( PCI Slot 3 )
    Diamond SupraExpress 56i PCI Modem ( PCI Slot 2 )
    4.3Gb Seagate Medallist HDD ( primary Master )
    6.4Gb IBM DHEA HDD ( Primary Slave )
    Creative Infra5400 36X CDROM ( Sec Master )

    Those 2 .dll files are in Program Files\Outlook Express.
    I would try to copy the 2 files to your Winnt\System and\or System32 folder(s), then reboot and try.
    The other way would be to copy the Outlook Express folder to your NT Program Files folder.
    Never tried it myself

    I have solved it!!!

    For some reason Outlook Express from the IE4 CD would not install fully in NT4 ( but does in win95 ) so I downloaded it via Active Setup from Microsoft and this cured the problems.

    Do yourself a favour and upgrade the NT installs to Service pack 4. It resloves the Y2K issues and also some other little icky problems.
