[RESOLVED] Matsonic SoundPro won't work
I have a Matsonic MB, model MS6260S, It uses the soundpro chip which is one the board. It worked for a while then I installed a modem. With the modem in, it would freeze on boot up right before it finished. I could go into the Bios and disable the sound then I could start up fine, and the modem would work. Or I could take the modem out and enable the sound and the sound would work. But not both at the same time. I downloaded a couple new patches and played with the bios and now I can not get the sound to work at all, even if I take the modem out. Please help!

It sounds like you have a resource conflict. It's probably caused by both the sound and modem trying to use the same IRQ. Try disabling your sound, installing the modem, and in device manager see which interrupt your modem is using. If your modem has jumpers, set it for something that won't conflict with sound, such as COM2 IRQ3, or COM3 IRQ4. If your modem is straight PnP, try changing the COM and IRQ in device mangler. Then re-enable your sound and see if it will work.
