Thumbs up How to get win98 to show all programs without having to scroll.

You know how when you have to many programs on your start menu windows puts an arrow at the bottom and you hit it and it scrolls down. I found out how to get them all to show in more colums on the right. At the bottom are the directions. i was also wondering if anyone knew how to do this in Internet Explorer?

"Windows 95 had one nice feature that was dropped from Win98. When you had too many
programs to fit in one column on the Start/Programs menu, a second column with the
additional items appeared beside it. In Windows 98, however, you have to scroll from the
bottom of the column to see more items.
But you can make your Windows 98 Programs menu work like Windows 95's by adding a
line to your Registry.
Click on the Start button and on Run. Type regedit and click on OK to bring up the
Registry Editor.
In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_
MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ explorer\Advanced. Right-click on
Advanced and select New and String Value. Name the new string that appears in the right
pane StartMenuScrollPrograms without spaces and with capitals as shown. Then
right-click on the icon beside the name you just created and select Modify.
An Edit String dialogue box appears. In the Data field, enter the word false and click on
OK. Close the Registry, then reboot for the change to take effect."

Hey Techs,
Thanks a bunch...it works great! The only thing is that I had to reboot for the changes to take effect. But yeah, that "defect" was one of the first things I noticed when I upgraded to Win98.
Thanks again,
DonJ
