Post SoundBlaster Live 3.0 Drivers

If you attempt to install the new SoundBlaster 3.0 Liveware drivers on a new install it will not install correctly. You must already have installed an earlier version for the installation to complete correctly. The files specific to this problem are the Playcenter CTPlay files. CTPlayer will not install unless you install over a previous version. This is contrary to the readme file included with the 3.0 Liveware drivers but is verifed by a senior Creative Support Tech. (If they really have one).

yes it is very annoying, the only way to do this is to use the original CD that came with the sound card to install teh drivers & software, then update the Play Center, then remove the SB LIVE! software from ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS ( the Playcenter is under it's own tab). Then you will be clear to install LW3. Long way around when thereare better apps for playing back media, like Winamp
