JG I would start by taking the system down to basic components, ram and cpu, if you get an error beep thats actually a good thing, add a video card, try again. Also check to make sure the ram and cpu are seated well, if the problem reoccurs with that basic a setup try a different power supply

When you say "it comes and goes" do you mean it shuts down and reboots or does the video just appear and disappear??If there are no error beeps or anything like that you might want to check the monitor and /or monitor connection out and reseat the video card

Is your CPU overclocked? you didnt give much detail. If you get a clean start every 20 tries, then its a major problem, Memory modual not inserted corrrectly? (loose)or (bad) Video card loose? try pulling it out and re-insterting it! any post beeps?

It could be a bad connection with the video card and the monitor! What have you discovered since your first posting! ------------------ I'll build it for you, fix it for you and bill you, all in net 15! |

If the power suply is coming on (fans and Power lights) try rplacing the power suply. Had one give me fits for an hour today like that. would post fine outside the case on a different suply but when I put the board in the case, fans, lights, but no video no beeps, no post. If you are getting no power at all, it may be a loose power cable, a loose ATX connector, or a bad switch. T o eliminate the switch, try removing the switch plug from the mainboard the VERY, VERY carefully short the power switch pins with a small screw driver. if it starts consistantly like that rplace the switch.
