Does a good 17' sony flat screen monitor make your display actually better?

What sort of monitors do you fellas have?
I want to know if having a good monitor or a bad monitor makes a visual difference?

A flat screen can help reduce glare significantly. Also lines are straight which makes them good for CAD applications. On most new monitors the curvature of the screen is so slight that it's not a big deal for home users.

The biggest thing to look for in a monitor is DOT PITCH. The dot pitch is the size of a single pixel on the screen. The smaller the dot pitch, the higher the resolution you can use and still have everything on the display sharp, crisp, and clear. If the dot pitch is too large, the pixels blend in with each other at high res. Result is blurry detail.

Never buy a monitor until you see it in action. And crank it up to the higher resolutions like 1280X1024 and see what the picture is like.

Is 0.24 - 0.25 dot pitch good?

Becuz that is the sony 17'' flat screen monitors's dot pitch!

That's a pretty good dot pitch, 0.26 - 0.27 is more common.

Sony aren't the only ones to make a flat screen though. I have a iIyama Vision Master Pro 410 which uses a Mitsubishi 17" Flat screen tube, which I like very much.

I have to say when I go back to "normal" monitors in work the sceens look funny, like a fish bowl effect
