Why i was rude

I am sory to be rude, but-

After getting tired from the grown up world i have used a Quantum mechanic loop hole to go back and stay in the age of 9. (the prosses is still flaky as hell so dont try it yoursef).

There is not much more anoing thing that being asked a question with out even giving the most basic of info (in this case a display card and directX version).
It is little like the post not long time ago to www.happyhacker.org (One of my favorit sites on the net for years) and sounds like this:

Client: My computer dont work !
Tech: what is wrong ?
Client: My computer dont work !
Tech: what is wrong ?
Client: My computer dont work !
Tech: what is wrong ?
Client: My computer dont work !

before i started to post in this user forum and before i posted to any of the forums i post to i always read the posting guide as "Hang" around to learn the Enviromante.
This was clearly not done here.most basic info.

When a person Post a question i expect him the minimum like:
1. Post in the correct Section - Video edit in Video Edit, Questions about Westwood Empror Games concerning 3D errors at the Video Adapter/Monitor Section.
2. Post a compleat and as detaild as can be a description of the problem.

When you go to the doctor you dont say - Doc i am sick - you say - My head is Killing me/I find it hard to breath/My **** refuse to do it's work...... (Last one of older people and not me good heven mey got help us all if he is there).

Normaly i try to help, and willing to spend time serching true m$ and more data bases for long time in order to find a driver or a solution to a user problem but this one was too much!

Espacialy if you are giving Email or Phone Tech support.

I strongly agree, not a day goes by when I have to say "you are my eyes and ears, I need you to describe to me what happens". I should not even have to do this, it should be overly obvious!
( I learned that quote from a senor tech back when I first started computers, it works with marvelous results)

Heh heh ... I looked at Who Me's link. The first guy did it right. Not even the Darren Wilsons of the tech world could do much for the second guy though, except maybe offer the guy some of their brain cells for a transplant ... two or three should be enough to double the guy's IQ <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

But i think this guy will never be able to do it.
In his case it will be much more Easy just to add some Electric powder and CPU oil to the computer. Hopfully the Extra Power will be able to fix it.

I have my own ways of dealing with these kind of posts. I'm in this field for a living and have a great deal of respect for those others who also pay their bills by solving tech problems for others. As such, I use these general outlines when deciding where to help and how/how much.

1) If it's a quick easy problem that I would just give the help for free over the phone if someone calls my office then I will post a reply to their question.

2) If the question is posted by another tech who makes a living in this field as I do, I try to help as I might need their help on another day.

3) If the problem is in a specific area of interest or is otherwise intriguing to me in some intangible way, I try to help.

Most others that I choose to pass on helping fall into one or the other of these categories:

1) From how the question is posted I can tell that this person should not be trying to fix their own problem and should be paying one of us to fix it.

2) If a person is rude or demanding in any way they won't get my help (we've all seen, "gee, I posted this 30 seconds ago and nobody can help???"

3) Some areas are just not interesting to me away from necessity (Programming, Certs, Web Review, etc.) and you won't see me there very often.

Fortunately, there are thousands of members registered here. I do this for recreation and feel no responsibility to be all things to all people. What doesn't interest me or doesn't appeal to my "Pay it Forward" hopes to make some small difference in the world will certainly draw the attention of others of you who will help.
