Keyboard Lock Problem
Greetings techy people,
I have a customer's computer here with a Shuttle Spacewalker(YUK!) Motherboard Model 555A Hot.
When it boots up, it gives a "Keyboard In Locked Position" message. I have tried unlocking the keyboard via a key, shorting out the keyboard lock connector on the motherboard, even clearing the BIOS. Nothing helps. Is it possible that the keyboard port is bad?
Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Mark

You mention 'shorting out' the keyboard lock...does this mean you pulled the wire off and closed the circuit with a jumper? This would disable the key and lock the board. If that's what you tried, try removing the wire and leaving the circuit open--that is the unlocked position. Now after doing this, if you still have a problem, try a different keyboard/this keyboard on a different system--still no go, probably the MB.
