Having a problem with the Biostar M6TLC board (LX Chipset) and a MS Intellimouse. The problem is, in Win9x, when you try to restart the computer, it will follow post with a couple more quick beeps. Then, it cuts off the PS/2 support and takes forever to boot, and when it does, gives you no functionality whatsoever. This also happens if the computer locks up and you have to shut it off. The only way it works is when you choose SHUTDOWN, and leave it off for about 30 seconds. I've pinpointed it to the mouse, because when I hook up a Logitech Mouseman +, it works just fine.

Although the problem was happening in Win95 too, I got the Win98 Update which is supposed to take care of the shutdown/restart problems. No luck there. I updated the BIOS to the latest revision, and have reseated and re-connected everything on the damn motherboard. Like I said though, it only seems to do it with this mouse. I have upgraded the drivers for EVERYTHING including the mouse, and still no luck. This is the second MS Intellipoint mouse I've tried on this. The customer requests that it be the intellipoint mouse, otherwise I would have just given them the Logitech mouse.

Please give me any ideas you might have!

Thanks,
PanFried
