scsi dvd player?
why does an ide dvd drive get listed under scsi in the hklm\enum\scsi section? it's a toshiba dvd (sd-m12021 according to the registry) - having a problem with it playing music cd's (it'll reboot when you put one in, then on startup, bluescreen about a scsi1hlp - strange
ps, the only way to remove the blue screen is blowing away the dvd under that scsi key in the registry

Hi,
Toshiba's web site below says that there are no specific drivers for their DVD's...should be recognized by Win95/98/2000/NT, etc.
http://www.toshiba.com/taecdpd/support/drivers.shtml
Does the device show up properly in your BIOS? Under IDE devices? If not, then that is your problem...
If it looks good in your BIOS, then I would boot into Safe Mode...remove all references to your DVD and SCSI devices. Reboot into WinDoze...it should identify your DVD device and load the correct drivers for it. Check in Device Manger to see that it is configured properly...no conflicts, etc.
Hope this helps you out...Good Luck!

All the computers around me have the cdrom listed under scsi in the registry and they all play music cd's. I have a feeling thats not your problem.
