    Post ibm install of cd-rom

I have an Ibm 380 E, with 166 mmx. I jsut recently received the internal cd-rom for it. My question is first is it hard to install and second what is the easiest way to get to the components..

    Thanks

It's not too hard to install it, but it could be hard enough if you do that for the first time.
The best way to install it is the following:

    1. After mounting the drive on the case, find an IDE ribbon cable (probably the one connected to the HDD) and plug it on the CD-ROM unit the same direction as on the HDD. Usually the Red line is from it's right side as you look it from behind.
    2. Then set it as Slave using its jumper (that tiny piece of plastic you see on it's back). Usually, the Slave position is the middle one.
    3. Connect a spare power cable.

It is ready now and if you did everything ok, it'll work.
