Pioneer DVD Drive in Dell XPS D333
Picked up an OEM Pioneer 10X DVD drive to install in a Dell XPS D333 series. Hardware is all installed and Windows 98 recognizes the drive fine. Win 98 also seems to have no problems in the device manager or anywhere with the drive or its drivers.
When ANY CD/DVD is inserted, DVD movie, Audio CD, data CD, CDr, CDRW, the drive spins up then I get the beautiful blue screen of death.
I have searched everywhere for updated drivers or any infomation about this but have found nothing that relates.

How did you connect the drive, as a slave to the master hard drive or as a master on the secondary IDE channel?
Also do you have UDMA active on the IDE channel used for the CDROM Drive? If so disable the UDMA.
