[RESOLVED] good burn/bad burn
I have a plextor 8x burner running nero. All the options are there to modify the formatting of the cd. Do I want iso level 1 or level 2? Do I want mode 1 or mode 2? joliet? iso 9660? Etc....
When software manufacturers burn their cd's they work on every machine in my office. When I burn a cd it works on only one machine in my office.
Whats the deal?

What mode do you use? Also, do you close the CD after burning?

As standard i use mode 1 and iso (more than 8 + 2 support). Unless i really need a multisession cd i always close the cd for compatability reasons. If im doing a multisession I wil always close the session (not the CD).
If you do this it should solve some of your problems

I always close my sessions. I have used mode 1 and mode 2 without success. Maybe I sould address this a different way: What is different in 4 out of 5 of my office computers that will not allow me to read my burned cd's? The Windows 98 CD works in all of them. Music cd's work in all of them. Original games, programs, etc... work in all of them. However, when I burn a cd with all of the free programs I have pulled from the internet I cannot get 4 out of 5 computers to recognize the cd.

Closing the session and closing the CD are two different things.
