I removed the heatsink to replace it with new one but I'm not sure if I have to clean the old TIM on and around the die before I place the new one.If I have to How do we clean it?

If it is just the white thermal grease I would use a clean lint-free cloth to remove it, it seems to wipe off pretty easily just dont get lint (like from a paper towel) on there it may smoke when you put heat back to it. If it's the black gunk that is on the retail Athlons you will probly have to get out a small razor blade (like out of a box-cutter) and peel it off... just careful not to cut yourself.
