Intel chipsets on the way out?

Interesting piece I just read. Intel and Rambus agreed that Intel would not support any memory that had a bandwith larger than 1 gig unless it was RDRAM. Now Intel has signed an agreement with VIA to produce DDR capable mobos for P3 and P4.

I doubt they will completely quit soon but definitely they aren't spending money or time on them like they did 2 years ago. Via is making improvement and I think ALI maybe able to produce something decent.SIS on the other hand needs to go back to the drawing board and start over.

I just got through going to a training on Intel products and I can assure you that the Intel chipsets are not on the way out. In fact, in the months to come, I think you all will be wow'ed with the stuff that's coming out.

More RDRAM capable mobos? I can hardly wait!

I hope most people go with the VIA chipsets that support DDR in the future.
