Post palm and USB

My mom has a new laptop and her palm plugs in via USB. However, the palm software says it wants to connect using serial.

Is there a way in the hotsync manager to specify USB?

    she's on XP home.

    thanks.

Clik on the hotsync button in the systray and select usb clik again on the icon and deselect serial. If you don't have the option to select usb or serial you need to download the latest palm desktop software from www.palm.com

Another possibility would be to sync through the IR port on your laptop.

I just happened to have mine laying about on the desk while I was finishing up an XP installation on a laptop when the IR connection window popped up on screen!

This will also allow you to keep the cable for another PC or laptop
