I have a old Philips PCA80SC SCSI external CDRom drive that I wish to operate off my parallel port under DOS/Win31 and/or Win95. Only needed for occasional software installation from a CD.
The Philips site no longer lists this model. I'm hopeful of finding both DOS and at least Win31 drivers to turn this boat anchor into something useful. Internet searches turn up a lot of info for this drive in the Mac world, but almost nothing for the DOS/Win world. Suggestions and thoughts of others would be appreciated. Yes, I'm aware of that site, did visit it, but it simply leads me back to the Philips site which no longer recognizes this model.

All the info that I can find on this drive shows it to be an internal model. Also, since it is a SCSI drive, you will need a SCSI controller. I don't believe it will work on the parallel port. Windows should recognize it automatically after you have it configured on a SCSI controller.
