Resolved [RESOLVED] audio cd's became absolute?

Is any one familiar with Pacific Digital cdrw2x2x24x? I have a problem, and it's described in their faq list. However, their suggested fix does not work. All cd's are read as audio cd's. This makes it hard to use the system as it is the only cdrom I have on this system. win98se pII@400mhz 128mb
17.2gb. Thier suggested fix is to disable auto insert notification, dma and anything else under the cd's settings in Device manager.
Then they say to turn the machine off for a 'few ' minutes. This does not fix the problem.
Now then the story gets interesting. I had this same problem once before and essentially their method worked. My cdrw came with easy cd creator 3.5. I recently bought easy cd creator 4. The installation went ok. I then installed direct cd from the same installation disk. I decided to check out that program before installing the final program in their package. It seemed to work ok, but after using that program I'm locked into audio cd mode. Any help would be appreciated
