McAfee virus scan settings don't stay
Hi again ! I'm sorry for bothering you again
but because I'm a computer nerd and you are the masters ...I come here to ask the following : I'm running Win 2K Pro under NTFS
I recently installed McAfee Virus Scan version 5.21 . During the setup I chose only the Win 2K administrator could make changes to the virus scan settings ...in fact the virus scan desktop shortcut and the program itself only appears under my Administrator account ...when another user logs into the computer, he(her) can only see the V-SHIELD
on the taskbar .
Under Adminstrator account, I configured the DOWNLOAD SCAN and the INTERNET FILTER features in my virus scan to check when for viruses when I'm surfing the net .....
But it happens when I shut down the computer and I turn it on again, the "download scan" and "internet filter" features of my virus scan don't stay as I left them . They are disabled again and I have to enabled them again...this keep happening all the time after I log off and when I log on .
I'm the only computer user with Administrator power on my putter and I never change the virus scan settings ....Why does
"download scan" and "internet filter" features on my virus scan DISABLE themselves without any intervention?? What should I do to keep them enabled all the time??
Thanks in advance for your help !!

I might be wrong, but I believe under File, there is an option to save changes as default. Try that, might work!

Which version of McAfee are you running? older ones won't work properly in 2k... Are you getting an error in event viewer, something about not being able to connect to local server, when you log in as another user?
